Purnia maintains its rich history even before the British arrived India. The Division was once spread to areas like Begusarai to Darjeeling since more than two centuries. The Ganga-Darjeeling Road, as known today, begins from Gulab Bagh in Purnia and passes through its famous locations Line Bazaar, Tatma Toli, Flour Mill-Polytechnic Chowk, Purnia city’s Outer Circle area and Khazanchi Haat areas amongst others before connecting to the national highway.
